  • October - November 2016 | We connected with Chatham County progressives to provide information about opportunities for activism. We won a big victory on Election Day when we voted overwhelmingly to elect Mike Morgan to the state Supreme Court, but now politicians in Raleigh are scheming to overturn the will of the voters.Judge Morgan beat incumbent Bob Edmunds by almost 10 points, or about 350,000 votes. In a year of close elections, this was a blowout. We also encouraged citizens to speak out against the General Assembly's plan add two new Supreme Court seats during the special session to deal with the damage from Hurricane Matthew, allowing them to arrange for appointing right-wing judges to fill those vacancies. We can't let them get away with this.
